This is the SWM-8 Multisiwtch from DIRECTV, it allow you to distributed the DIRECTV signal via one cable. For use with a 5LNB DIRECTV Dish "Slimline" With this switch you can-nbsp;run one line from your dish to your DVR. This SWM8 eight channel single wire multiswitch also allows any transponder form any satellite input to be independently selected and distributed via one of eight designated SWM output frequency channels.

SWM-8 -nbsp;8 CH Single Wire Multi-Switch (SWM)
- Allows any transponder from any DIRECTV satellite input to be independently selected and distributed via one of eight designated SWM output frequency channels
- Provides two outputs to serve two customer dwellings (typical)
- Contains a built-in diplexer for combining off-air signals with DIRECTV satellite signals onto a single home-run wire to the dwelling
- Provides AGC for the satellite input signal
- Die-cast housing is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use
- Supports six (6) LNB inputs, each triple-band stacked four ports (Ports 1 - 4) cover existing 99-deg;/101-deg;, 103-deg;/110-deg;/119-deg; satellites, plus two Flex Ports (95-deg; sat and 72.5-deg; sat)

The SWM-8 (single-wire multiswitch, also knows as the SWM8 or SWiM) was designed to eliminate many of the issues involved in using house wiring in DIRECTV installs. Where previously several lines were required to run from a dish or multiswitch through outside walls and into individual rooms, the SWM-8 allows the signal to be run much more like a standard cable TV installation - only one line needs to run from the outdoor dish to the inside of the house.

Your home is wired with just one coax per room and you have a DIRECTV-reg; dual tuner receiver.-nbsp;
SOLUTION
Model SWM8 and SWM8-Kit selectively stack up to (8) programs on a single coax cable. The stacked signal can be split to serve (8) single tuner receivers or (4) dual tuner DVR receivers-nbsp;
RELATED CONSIDERATIONS
DBS splitters are required to divide signal to the multiple receivers. DIRECTV-reg; approved SWS splitters are recommended to split the SWM8 output and to pass the 2 MHz control signals from receivers to switch. Model SWM8-Kit includes the power supply to power the switch and AU9 dish.
