Convert your SWM-8 into a SWM-16.
If you have a SWM-8 and would like to add more tuners, you can purchase the SWM-8 Kit converter for a total of 16 tuners. Or if you have a SWM-16 and would like more tuners you can purchase the SWM-8 Kit converter for a total of 24 tuners.

SWM-8 Single Wire Multi-Switch (8 Channel SWM)
This is the SWM-8 Multisiwtch from DIRECTV, it allow you to distributed the DIRECTV signal via one cable. For use with a 5LNB DIRECTV Dish "Slimline" With this switch you can run one line from your dish to your DVR. This eight channel single wire multiswitch also allows any transponder form any satellite input to be independently selected and distributed via one of eight designated SWM output frequency channels.

SWM-8 8 CH Single Wire Multi-Switch (SWM)

The SWM-8 (single-wire multiswitch, also knows as the SWM8 or SWiM) was designed to eliminate many of the issues involved in using house wiring in DIRECTV installs. Where previously several lines were required to run from a dish or multiswitch through outside walls and into individual rooms, the SWM-8 allows the signal to be run much more like a standard cable TV installation - only one line needs to run from the outdoor dish to the inside of the house.

Basic requirements for the SWM8:
In order to successfully install the SWM 8 Multiswitch you will need:
- A Slimeline Satellite Dish (AT9 or Au9) from Directv with 4 output lnb, the (SL5) 5LNB or the (SL3) 3LNB
- A SWM Compatible Receiver

SITUATION
Your home is wired with just one coax per room and you have a DIRECTV® dual tuner receiver.
SOLUTION
Model SWM8 and SWM8-Kit selectively stack up to (8) programs on a single coax cable. The stacked signal can be split to serve (8) single tuner receivers or (4) dual tuner DVR receivers
RELATED CONSIDERATIONS
DBS splitters are required to divide signal to the multiple receivers. DIRECTV® approved SWS splitters are recommended to split the SWM8 output and to pass the 2 MHz control signals from receivers to switch. Model SWM8-Kit includes the power supply to power the switch and AU9 dish.
